Fall News!

Start Dates For Fall Semester:  Private Lessons begin Wednesday, August 14, Group Classes begin Monday September 16.

Reck Violin Day is in Iowa City: Jim asked us to come to him this year! We need two parent volunteers: one to drop off the instruments at his shop (Reck Violin Shop, Clocktower Plaza, 1801 Second St, Suite 130, Coralville, IA 52241), and one to go the next day and pick up instruments. Jim requests that we come Tuesday September 10-Wednesday September 11.

Jim's shop is near the Coralville Mall and has lots of fun restaurants, so you can make a day of it! We ask that each person sending an instrument chips in $10 to cover gas money for drivers. If you are able to be a driver let me know ASAP.  

Save the Date! Kick off Picnic/Play In/Parent Pep Talk:

Monday, September 9 5-7pm: All School Picnic, "Parent Pep Talk" by guest speaker and Iowa-based Suzuki Violin teacher John Schultz, and Play-In!  

Violin Students book 3 and up, please also save the date for a workshop with John 3:30-5pm that day. 

John Is president and CEO of Cedar Rapids, IA based Schultz Strings serving several thousand clients each month with fine instruments, rentals, accessories and restoration services. His students have performed internationally and have won numerous college scholarships, concerto competitions and have been featured on programs such as From The Top. He has taught students from age 2 to 70 and has served on the faculties of Cornell College, the Preucil School of Music and the Cedar Rapids Symphony School.
