Semester Begins! Private lessons start the week of August 21 and group classes start the week of September 18. Check the website calendar for your group class time and location. Registration Registration is due at your first fall lesson. Please bring completed registration forms with you. Forms are available to print from the JMS website (current students tab), or attached to this email. Hard copies are also available in the front porch baskets at both studio locations. Please bring cash or a check written to “Javaux Music School” to pay your registration fee. Tuition is paid separately to the individual teacher (checks written to your teacher, cash, or Venmo are all accepted forms of payment). Reck Violin Day Jim Reck, expert violin maker and seller of stringed instruments, from Reck Violin Shop (Iowa City, IA) is coming to Quincy Monday, August 28 from 9:30am-5pm. • Bows rehaired: standard and premium (drop off by noon, pick up by 5:00pm) • Bridges & sound posts cut and adjusted • Instrument appraisals • Minor adjustments • Instruments on location for trial or purchase • Shoulder rests & chin rests for sale Cash or check only. For specific instrument requests please call ahead. 319-351-8374 Parent Meeting In place of group classes September 11 we are holding a parent meeting for new and experienced parents. Learn how to be a more successful practice partner and support person for your student, and get tips on how to get the most out of your time and tuition money this year! We are hoping each parent will make an effort to attend. Monday September 11, 5:30-6:30pm at Vermont Street United Methodist Church (818 Vermont St. Quincy). Piano & Harp Kick off play in All piano and harp students are invited to a Meet & Greet/Play-In Monday, August 21 from 4-5pm. Come to the piano/harp studio (2009 Hampshire St. Quincy) for some backyard fun and music making. Yard games, water, and popsicles will be provided. Wear your JMS shirts! New JMS T-shirt Design Thank you to Scott Schaller at 10th Street Creative for refreshing our JMS t-shirt design! The JMS t-shirt is our school uniform for all casual performances and events. The new design coordinates well with the original, so current students do not need to purchase a new shirt (unless you want to or need a bigger size). We will have both the new and original t- shirt for sale on the website store tab. The original shirts will be listed at a discount if you are looking for a deal!
