Location: Calvary Baptist Church, 1825 State Street
Wear your Picture Day/Sunday best-no jeans or tennis shoes.
Invite family and friends.
Bring a treat (a plate of cookies or treats) to share for the reception following recital.
Each recital should last about 45 minutes.
Photos during performance should be without flash.
Check to make sure you know where you volunteered to help.
Parents, please model good recital behavior. Proper recital attendance means you stay for the entire recital. If you need to leave and then re-enter with a young child try to do so in between pieces. This is how we show respect and care for each other.
Yes, we still have lessons the weeks after recital! :) Check the website if you are unsure.
*** River Strings students will only be required to stay for the entire recital when they are playing a solo. These students will be performing at all three recitals so will have a reprieve from the normal requirements of attendance. They have been instructed how to enter between pieces so as not to interrupt the recitals. We are grateful for their willingness to give so much time to perform for us.
Congratulations Scholarship Winners!
We are so pleased to announce our two scholarship winners, Charlie Sparrow and Karlie Sparrow. They are going to Blue Lake Camp this summer and each received a $500. Scholarship. We can’t wait to hear all about it later this summer! So far we have 6 students attending institutes, and two teachers going for training as well. It is not too late to sign up for this wonderful musical experience.
100 day Club
Have you completed 100 days in a row of practice this year? If so, we want to know about it! Turn in your counting chart to your teacher, and you will be invited to a special 100 Day Club Party hosted by your teacher.
Summer Lessons
Each student is to sign up for four or more lessons during the summer. Check with your teacher with scheduling questions. Much can be accomplished in the summer when students have more time to practice. Do your practicing as early as possible in the day. No one wants to stop playing outside our lounging by the pool to go practice!
